Government- Supreme Court Decision
Throughout the history of the united states of American there have been many example of government supreme court decision. Two examples are Mar bury v. Madison and Plessy v. Ferguson.The united states supreme court has played a major role in the united states history. the court decision have had a significant impact on many aspects of American society.
One example is Mar bury v. Madison . Marbury was given a important position in the government by the old president. the new president refused to give Marbury the position . the case went to the supreme court. Marbury v. Madison established concept of judicial reviews, first time supreme court declared something unconstitutional . "That is, the Court had the right to review acts of Congress and, by extension, actions of the President. If the Court found that a law was unconstitutional, it could overrule the law" (Marbury v. Madison (1803)). judicial review gave the judicial branch on the government equal power to the legislative and executive branches.
Another example is Plessy v. Ferguson. Plessy was a man who was born white and black. white people on the train car tell Plessy have to move to the back with the other black people. the case went to the supreme court. the court decided the black people were Separated but equal. "The Court stated that segregation was legal and constitutional as long as “facilities were equal.” Thus the “separate but equal doctrine” that would keep America divided along racial lines for over half a century longer came into being" (Plessy v.
